How to Clean Popcorn Poppers

After popcorn is popped in a popper, an oily build-up is left on the sides. The oil comes from both the kernels themselves and any oil used in the popping process. Not all popcorn poppers use oil. Some use heated air to pop the kernels. A degreasing dish detergent removes the oil. It's important to clean out the popper after each use. The oily build up can cause the popcorn to get a weird taste. Does this Spark an idea?
