How to Cut Memory Foam for Chair Cushions
Memory foam is among the most popular materials, commonly used in beds. It can also be used to create your own chair cushions. Memory foam is based on a temperature system in which it conforms to the shape of your body based upon your body heat, making it a more comfortable support system upon which to sit or lie. If you would like to create your own memory foam chair cushions, the first step you must do is to cut memory foam pieces for your cushions.
Instructions

1
Measure the chairs with a yard stick to determine the length and width you need to cut the memory foam.

2
Position the yard stick atop the memory foam and mark the measurements on the memory foam with a pencil by drawing an outline of the measurements to be cut on the foam.

3
Place the memory foam atop a hard surface with the edge of the line to be cut hanging off the surface. Hold the memory foam on the surface down firmly with one hand, and align the knife blade of the electric knife at the top of the line to be cut with the other.
-
4
Turn on the electric knife and pull it slowly and smoothly along the line drawn upon the memory foam to ensure an even cut.
-
5
Repeat the above process to finish cutting the memory foam for your chair cushions.

Tips & Warnings
Create rounded edges for your cushions by gently turning the electric knife to create a rounded corner on the memory foam.
Do not force the electric knife, for this will result in an uneven, jagged cut; let the blade slide smoothly and naturally through the foam to ensure a clean cut.
Always exercise caution when cutting with an electric knife; ensure that all body parts and the cord are out of the way when you cut.
