Purchase static magnets at your local drugstore or through a reputable online company. Static magnets are measured in strengths, from 450 to 10,000 Gauss.

Place magnets on the site of the fracture. If you are wearing a cast, place the magnet on your skin closest to the fractured area.

Tape the magnet onto the skin with the adhesive tape. Make sure the magnet is secured tightly to the skin. You may need to tape the magnet several times to ensure it will not fall off.

Leave the magnet in place for several days. If you do not feel improvement in pain, move the magnet several inches and re-tape. Magnets give off pulsed electromagnetic fields that may improve healing times when bones are fractured.

Do not use magnetic therapy if you are pregnant, have a bleeding disorder, have a history of epilepsy or have a pacemaker. Do not use if you have any metal implants (the magnets may dislodge them).
