How to Make Your Own Baby Shower Sheet Cake
Baking your own baby shower cake saves you money over purchasing a professionally baked one. Opt for a sheet cake, baked in a single layer to serve more guests for the same amount of cake. Sheet cakes also do not require stacking, which proves difficult for the novice baker. For ease in serving and transporting, serve the sheet cake directly from the baking pan. Customize your baby shower cake and icing flavors for the mom-to-be. Does this Spark an idea?

Tips & Warnings
For an unknown baby gender, make light green or yellow icing for the base coat, or choose traditional blue for a boy and pink for a girl.
Use real pacifiers, rubber duckies or plastic rattles to decorate the cake. The mom-to-be then can wash these off and use them for her baby.
Optionally, turn the baked and cooled cake upside down onto a large serving platter and continue to decorate.
