How to Get Messages in Alltel Basic Voicemail
Alltel offers two voicemail packages: "Enhanced" voicemail and "Basic" voicemail. The enhanced voicemail allows you to perform tasks such as reply to a message, forward messages and create messages to send to distribution lists. The basic voicemail does just what the name implies. It is basic, allowing callers to leave you a voicemail message that you can listen to at your convenience. You can access your voicemail directly from your Alltel wireless phone or from a remote location.

Ensure that you have setup your Alltel basic voicemail account. To do so, simply dial your 10-digit Alltel number from your cell phone keypad. Press "#" to interrupt the automated greeting. Enter "9999" to access the voicemail setup options. During the setup, you will be able to create a new four-digit security code.
