How to Repair a Loose Laser on a XBox 360

The DVD drive in the XBox 360 uses a laser to read the data off of the game discs inserted into the game console. The laser is set into the laser assembly and rides on two rails in order to read disks. If the laser assembly is not centered on the rails, the laser will not read the discs correctly. Repairing a loose laser on the XBox 360 doesn't require electronic skill, but does take patience and attention to detail. Opening up the game console and repositioning the laser can be done within an hour and will let you get back to playing games.
