2. Remove the protective strap from the closet dehumidifier. If you are using a bucket item, there is a protective covering under the lid so it doesn't collect humidity while on the store shelves.

3. Regularly check up on the closet dehumidifier. You are going to see water begin to collect in the device. Over time, you may be surprised how much water is being collected.

4. Remove the closet dehumidifier once it has become full of liquid. Pour this liquid out in your toilet and throw the device away. Replace it with a new dehumidifier. Usually these small devices last several months and only cost a few dollars to purchase.
