How to Straight Lace a Corset
Corsets have been worn by women for many centuries. Although the style of corset has changed throughout the years, they have all been notorious for their tight laces. Most women, when wearing a corset, decide to lace it in the traditional criss-cross or spiral patterns. However, straight lacing is also an option. Insert the lace down into the top 2 eyelets of the corset. Pull each end of the lace so that they are even.

Skip the second eyelet and pull the right lace up through the third eyelet on the right. Insert this same lace down into the third eyelet on the left (straight across). Skip the fourth eyelet on the left and bring the lace back up through the fifth eyelet on the left. Bring the lace over and down through the fifth eyelet on the right.

Repeat the process in Step 2, skipping every other row of eyelets until you reach the bottom of the corset.

Pull the left lace up through the second eyelet on the left. Insert this lace down into the second eyelet on the right. Skipping the third row of eyelets, bring the lace up through the fourth eyelet on the right. Bring it over and insert it into the fourth eyelet on the left.

Repeat Step 4, going back and forth between the eyelets until you reach the bottom of the corset. Pull the corset tight and tie the two ends of the lace together at the bottom.

Cinch the waist by locating the two middle straight laces. Pull each of them tight then tie the two ends together.

You may need someone to help you lace the corset up for desired fit.
Use a corset that snaps up in the front so that you do not have to relace the corset every time you want to wear it.
