How to Freeze Frame in Quick Time
QuickTime is a software program for the Windows operating system, available from Apple, that is used to view and create movie files depending on the version of the program you are using. When viewing a movie using the QuickTime software, you may want to freeze a frame and capture a still image to a file. This can be done by using the "Export" option directly from the QuickTime Pro version of the software.

Open a movie file on your system with QuickTime. Locate a MOV or MP4 file on your system and double click on it to have it open in QuickTime.

Wait for the movie to load into the program.

Move the arrow keys on your keyboard to a specific frame in the movie.

Click on the "File" drop down and select the "Export" option.

Select the "Move to Picture" option from the "Export" dialog box.

Choose a format for the picture from the "Compression Type" dialog box.

Save the file to a location on your computer, such as the desktop or the root of your hard disk. The root of your hard disk is the Hard Disk (C:) from the My Computer icon on your desktop.

An error will occur if you try to play a movie that has not been formatted for the QuickTime software.
