Things You'll Need
- Teak salad bowl
- Mild dish soap
- Dishcloth and dish towel
- Food-grade mineral oil
- Two clean cloths

Wash the teak salad bowl by hand with the dish soap and dishcloth. Rinse the salad bowl in warm water and dry it immediately with the dish towel.

Store the teak salad bowl in a location where there is adequate air circulation. Keep the salad bowl out of areas where there is excessive dry heat and direct sunlight.

Apply mineral oil to the teak salad bowl two or three times per year. Pour a quarter-size dollop of mineral oil into the bottom of the teak salad bowl to condition it. Work the mineral oil into all the surfaces of the bowl with a clean cloth and allow the mineral oil to sit on the wood for approximately 30 minutes. Wipe off the excess mineral oil after letting the bowl sit.

Store the teak bowl without using it for approximately three days to ensure the mineral oil soaks in adequately.
