How to Make Wedding Wreaths
Bridal wreaths are a common tradition at many weddings. Usually carried by the bridesmaids or used for decoration, these wreaths hold a special place in the weddings of those who choose to implement them. Making your own wedding wreath is very simple and inexpensive, and can be a fun activity for a bride-to-be and her bridesmaids in preparation for the wedding. Using silk flowers, ribbon, and other inexpensive craft materials, you can create your own one-of-a-kind wedding wreath.
Things You'll Need
- Wreath wire
- Large silk flowers
- Extra small silk flowers
- Ivy garland
- Wide sheer ribbon
- Floral wire

Select the type of silk flowers and ribbon for your wreath. Use a traditional white, or use flowers and ribbon that are the same as your wedding colors.

Adhere the ivy garland to the wreath wire, using the floral wire. Start at the top of the wreath wire and work your way around clockwise. Make sure the garland is firmly secured to the wreath wire. Cut off any access garland with scissors.

Cut the plastic stems off the silk using the scissors. Make the cut just below the plastic base where the stem meets the flower.

Adhere the large silk flowers to the wreath, using the hot glue gun. Arrange them equally around the wreath, with 2 to 3 inches between each flower. If you are using several colors of silk flowers, alternate the colors.

Adhere the extra small silk flowers to the wreath using the hot glue gun. Arrange them in the space between the large silk flowers.

Cut two 3-foot-long strips of ribbon.

Flip the wedding wreath over so that the ivy and flowers are facing downward. Adhere the ribbon to the center of the bottom of the wreath wire, using the hot gun. The two strips of ribbon should be attached right next to each other.

Tips & Warnings
If you want to use fresh flowers for the wedding wreath instead of silk, attach them to the wreath the morning of the wedding using floral wire.
