How to Make Wall Bag Holders
Most stores provide plastic bags for your purchases. Rather than throwing the bags away, save them for use around the house. Use them to line small garbage cans or as pick-up bags if you have a pet that you must clean up after while on a walk. Instead of storing the bags under a cabinet in a jumble, spend a few minutes making a bag holder to hang on your wall. This will keep bags organized and at your fingertips.

1
Cut out a 20-by-25-inch piece of fabric.
-
2
Prepare your sewing machine. Place the fabric onto a flat surface with the side that will form the outside of the bag facing down. Make a fold along the 20-inch side of the fabric by turning the end of the fabric up one-quarter of an inch and then folding it up again about one-third of an inch. This will form the pocket for the elastic.

Cut two strips of elastic, one 6 inches long and one 11 inches long. Slide the shorter piece of elastic through the bottom casing and sew it to the fabric on each end. Repeat with the longer piece of elastic on the top. The short elastic piece is placed at the bottom of the bag to prevent the bags from falling onto the floor, while the longer piece of elastic is used on top to make a wider hole for placing bags into the holder.

4
Fold the fabric in half so that the two long sides meet. Sew together.

5
Turn the bag inside out. Cut a piece of ribbon 14 inches long. To make a handle, attach the ribbon to the bag with the sewing machine about 1 inch from the top. Insert bags into the top of the holder. Hang onto a wall hook. Pull bags from the bottom opening when ready to use.

Attach the elastic to a safety pin to make threading it through the casing more simple.
