Every household needs a sewing kit. Most people lose a button or two and a sewing kit will have most items in it for a quick sewing job. An emergency is on the arise and you need to sew a button, or a snap on your child's Christmas play costume or Holloween costume and she is in tears. Your sewing kit comes in handy and saves the day. A housewife, college student, co-worker, or a person who is on holiday needs a sewing kit incase of an emergency. Sewing kits make great gifts for a housewife, wedding present or friend.

- Styrofoam

Gather all equipment to make a sewing kit. Place the equipment on the table where you will be working.

Place the box on the fabric and add an inch around the box. Cut the fabric.

Take the fabric and glue it around the box snuggly. Let it dry overnight. Meanwhile, trace the lid of the box on the Styrofoam for the pincushion.

Take two squares of fabric and place one top the other. One side of the fabric will be placed the wrong side out. Sew three sides of the fabric together and then turn them inside out. Place the Styrofoam in it and sew the fourth side.

Use the glue on the fabric and place the pincushion inside the lid. Let it completely dry.

Place notions inside the sewing kit and close the lid.

Tips & Warnings
Use a holiday cookie tin for your sewing kit. Use smaller box to fit into larger boxes for extra space. Arrange same type of colors together. Label each drawer or box carefully.
Keep scissors out of reach from children. Keep thread away from sunlight, which can cause damage by changing its color.
