How to Get Rid of the Advertising Panel on Google
Google has become so ubiquitous that its name has practically become a verb. Many users call Google their homepage on the web, searching for anything from movie showtimes to product reviews. Google, like most other sites, uses web advertising for its revenue, so most search pages have sponsored ads. These ads can be distracting and visually unappealing. Luckily, both Safari and Firefox have ways of circumventing said ads.

Tips & Warnings
The Adblock extension will work for both Mac and PC.
As of this writing, the adblock application for Safari only works with Macintosh version of the program.
These programs will also block ads from other sites by default. Other sites can be turned off, though it is not recommended.
Adblock for Safari does not work while Safari is in 64-bit mode. This only applies to Snow Leopard users, but should be noted.
