How to Balance Seat Cushions
Regular use of seat cushions can cause them to sag or flatten in specific areas. When this happens, you are faced with one of three choices: live with off-balance seat cushions, try to re-balance them or get new seat cushions. Fluffing a seat cushion will re-balance the filler inside and give the cushion a new life. Doing this regularly will also make maintaining your cushions easier and lengthen the time between needing to replace cushions. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Examine the piece of furniture the cushion is on. Sofas usually have many cushions, whereas a dining table may only have one cushion per chair. Determine if all the cushions are equally flattened or if there is one spot worse than others. This is frequently seen with sofas where you tend to sit in the same spot to relax.

2
Remove the cushions from the chair or sofa. Punch or slap the cushions with your hands, starting from the areas with more fluff than the others and working your way to the flattened area. Use a broom handle to pound larger cushions.

3
Place the cushions back on the sofa or chair. If the design of the cushion allows you to, turn the cushion over so that the bottom is now sitting on the top. You can also move cushions from the left side of the sofa to the right to further balance them.

4
Move cushions or seating around dining room tables so that frequently used positions have a fluffier chair or cushion.
