How to Display Record Albums
Music lovers love adorning their walls with vintage vinyl. Record albums are colorful decorations, and they make a statement about your taste in music and visual arts. Beside that, they just look cool. Specially designed frames are a fairly recent addition to the home-decorating market. They're lightweight, they protect the albums they contain, and they're an increasingly popular alternative to traditional paintings and photos. Does this Spark an idea?

Framing The Records

Turn the four clips on the back of the frame outward, so they are no longer holding the backing in place.

Remove the backing.

Place the record album in the frame, with the side you want to display showing through the plastic or glass. If your frame has a built-in wall hanger, place the album so that the hanger is at the top of the album cover.

Replace the backing.

Turn the four clips to their original position, so as to secure the backing to the frame once again.
Mounting The Frames

Choose an arrangement. If you're displaying just one record, place it as you would a painting or framed photograph. If you're displaying several, decide whether to place them side by side, whether to allow a bit of room in between, whether to make a "wall of records" or whether to have them span the entire perimeter of the room.

Mark your frames. Place the first frame in the spot where you intend to hang it. Mark the corners and the top of each frame with blue painter's tape. Repeat for each frame.

Mark your nail holes. Position the nail so that the frame covers it, and so that the hook fits into the clip on the back of the frame.

Tap the hook into a wall. Use an interlocking wall hanger (in which the hook fits into a clip on the back of the frame) or a frame with a built-in wall hanger.

Hang the album by placing the hook through the clip on the back of the frame.

Tips & Warnings
If you wish to display the records outside their sleeves, choose an arrangement, trace the outlines and affix them using wall adhesive. This will, however, render the records unplayable.
