How to Install an Over-the-Stove Microwave Bracket
An over-the-stove microwave is a wonderful addition to any kitchen as it provides a number of advantages. For example, by installing the microwave above the stove, you're immediately increasing the amount of usable counter space in your kitchen. Most models also feature lights for illuminating the cooking area as well as exhaust fans for eliminating steam or grease buildup. But before you can think about installing your new microwave, you have to install the mounting bracket properly. Does this Spark an idea?

Find the location of the wall studs with the stud finder. Mark the locations with a pencil.

Hold the mounting bracket up against the bottom of the cabinet that's over the stove. Check the bottom of the bracket to make sure it is level.

Mark the bracket's bolt holes on the wall with the pencil. Remove the bracket.

Check to see which bolt holes line up with a stud. You want to hit as many studs as possible. Use the hammer and nail to make sure there is a stud behind the bolt holes.

Drill pilot holes in each of the studs you will be using.

Hold the bracket back up against the wall and use the drill with the socket bit to start drilling in the mounting bolts that come with the bracke). Before you get them all tightened down, double-check that the bracket is level.

Tighten down the bracket bolts and you're ready to continue with the microwave installation.
