How to Make Homemade Buffalo Wings
Buffalo wings are excellent appetizers for casual company or make a good potluck dish. As with most prepared food, buying Buffalo wings from a supermarket or deli can get expensive. Additionally, you can't always rely on a fresh product that isn't loaded with additives and preservatives. You can control the ingredients when you make your homemade Buffalo wings and possibly create a signature marinade as you go. You can purchase chicken wings from the butcher and ask that they be cut for a Buffalo wing dish. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 3 pounds chicken wings, cut Buffalo-style
- 1 can orange juice concentrate
- 1/4 cup fresh ginger root
- 1/4 cup fresh garlic
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds

In a large bowl or baking dish, combine the raw chicken wings and marinade ingredients. Make sure the chicken is covered completely by the marinade. Cover and place in the refrigerator.

Marinate the chicken overnight if possible. The wings should soak for a minimum of four hours in order for the flavors to sink into the meat.

Place the chicken wings into a baking dish and add enough marinade to fill the dish halfway. Cover tightly with foil.

Cook at 350 degrees for 30 minutes and remove the foil. Stir the wings to coat them with the marinade in the pan.

Return the pan to the oven and cook for 10 to 15 minutes or until the wings have turned golden brown.

Tips & Warnings
To cut wings Buffalo-style, cut the wings at the joint separating the wing and the "drummette." Cut the wing tip off and discard.
A favorite barbecue sauce can be used in place of the marinade.
