Instructions

    • 1

Choose any hat that suits you best. Purchase a straw or a felt hat for best results in hot-gluing items to the hat.

    • 2

Cut the tulle to measure around the crown of the hat, plus 2 inches for overlap. Wrap the tulle around the lower crown of the hat. Use the hot glue gun to secure the tulle in place.

    • 3

Wrap a 1-yard length of the string pearls around the hat. Overlap the ends of the pearls at the back of the hat. Use a dab of the hot glue to hold in place. Allow the excess pearls to hang down the back of the hat.

    • 4

Take the lace and cut it to a length of 1 yard. Start in the middle of the length of lace and make 2 loops on either side of the exact middle. Wrap the loops around each other to make a bow. Adjust the loops of the bow as desired.

    • 5

Add more tulle loosely around the band of the hat to make a veil. Make sure the tulle fits tightly where the band and the crown of the hat meet, but it can hang loosely over the band. Secure the tulle veil at the back of the hat.

    • 6

Use the scissors to cut another piece of lace that measures 18 inches. Insert one end of the ribbon through the knot at the back of the bow.

    • 7

Pull the lace so you have one long and one short length. Wrap the long end of the lace around the crown of the hat.

    • 8

Tie the ends of the lace together. Put some glue on the back of the bow. Press the bow gently into the hat to help the glue stick. Allow the tails of the bow to hang down the back of the hat.

    • 9

Glue silk flowers to your hat. Cut the stem off as close to the flowers as possible without the flowers falling apart. Use plenty of the hot glue to affix the flowers all around the hat.
