How to Project a Video From a Monitor & Projector
If you want to present content from your computer to a large audience, you probably want to use a projector to do so. However, it may also be nice to leave your monitor connected to the computer. Doing this allows you to have a close look as to what exactly is happening on the computer. Although most computers only have one VGA port (where the monitor connects to the computer) it is possible to connect both a video monitor and projector at the same time.

1
Disconnect the video monitor from your computer. Most likely the VGA cable running from your monitor is going to have two tightening screws. This ensures a secure connection between the two devices. Loosen these screws before attempting to remove the cable.

2
Connect the VGA splitter cable into the VGA port of the computer. The splitter is going to look like a "Y." You want the single end of the splitter to connect to the port of the computer.

3
Plug the computer monitor into one of the available ends of the splitter. You can now begin using your computer monitor once again. The splitter is not going to lessen the video quality displayed on either the monitor or the projector.

4
Plug the last remaining end of the VGA splitter into the digital projector. You may need a VGA extension cable to reach the projector.

5
Press the "menu" button on the projector. Once the menu appears select "Video In." A variety of different video options will be offered. Select "Computer." The projector is now going to display the content on your computer screen.
