How to Clean Foggy Car Windows

Foggy car windows are a major distraction when you are trying to see where to drive. You clean your car's windows regularly, but they seem to fog up for no known reason. Foggy car windows are caused by number of things, including a faulty heater core, a problem with your car's ventilation system or the air outside reacting to the air inside your car. To clean foggy car windows, you need a bottle of white vinegar and a clean, soft cloth.

Things You'll Need

• White vinegar
• Pot
• Latex gloves
• Soft cloth
• Paper towels

Instructions

1. Pour 2 cups of the white vinegar in the pot. Wear the latex gloves to keep your hands from getting wet.

2. Dip the soft cloth into the pot of vinegar. Wring out the excess vinegar.

3. Wipe your car windows with the damp cloth. Re-dip the cloth as needed.

4. Wipe the windows with a paper towel to remove any excess vinegar from the windows.

5. Crack a window so air can circulate throughout the car and flush out the vinegar smell.

6. Repeat the steps to clean the outside of your car windows.

Tips & Warnings

• To keep your windows from fogging up, apply a thin coat of shaving cream to the windows inside your car. Spread the cream on the windows, let it dry and then rub off the shaving cream with a clean, soft cloth. The shaving-cream treatment will last for about a week.
