How to Clean a Gillette Safety Razor

Things You'll Need
- Pan
- Dish soap
- Water
- Cotton swabs
- Metal brush or toothbrush
- Vinegar or lime solvent
- Soft cloth
- Sterol oil

Take apart all the removable pieces of the razor and place them into the pan.

Heat water to about 100 F and mix in dish soap.

Pour the water into the pan with all of your razors and let them soak for 5 to 10 minutes.

Scrub the razors with the toothbrush and cotton swabs. If you use a metal brush be careful not to scratch the surface.

Heat up more water until boiling. Pour in vinegar or other lime solvent. Place the razor parts in the mixture for ten minutes, moving them around periodically.

Take them out and rinse them off before wiping them down with a soft cloth to polish them.

Place sterol oil on the cloth and wipe the parts down to keep them from rusting.
