How to Remove Candle Wax Drips on a Wood Table With Heat

Imagine the horror and dismay when you discover a candle dripping hot wax all over your dining table or other wood surface. You may assume you are destined to cover that wax spill with a floral centerpiece forever. Don't give up so easily. With a little effort, you can remove candle wax drips on a wood table with heat.

Things You'll Need

• Blow dryer
• Paper towels
• 2 clean cloths
• White vinegar
• Water
• Measuring cup
• Small bowl
• Wood polish

Instructions

1. Set the blow dryer to the medium heat setting and turn it on. Direct the heat of the blow dryer onto the hardened wax drips and continue applying heat until the wax softens and melts.

2. Wipe as much of the softened wax from the wood surface with a dry paper towel.

3. Mix equal parts of white vinegar and water into the small bowl.

4. Saturate one of the clean cloths with the diluted vinegar and wipe the waxy area.

5. Dry the area with a dry cloth after applying the vinegar.

6. Polish the tabletop with wood polish to restore shine.

Tips & Warnings

• Try using used dryer sheets for removing candle wax from hard surfaces. The dryer sheets will remove the wax residue and clean the surface at the same time.
