Instructions

    • 1

Measure the waistband of the baseball pants. Place a pin 2 inches to the left and right of the center front of the baseball pants to indicate placement of the two front belt loops. Measure the remaining distance around the waistline of the baseball pants between the two pins, and place pins at even increments every 3 to 4 inches around the waistband to indicate placement of the other belt loops.

    • 2

Cut one 3-inch length of double-fold bias tape for each belt loop. Do not unfold the double-fold bias tape--leave it folded for added strength.

    • 3

Fold under each raw edge of the bias tape pieces 1/2 inch and press these folds with the iron.

    • 4

Pin the prepared belt loops along the waistband at each pin marking the placement for the belt loops. Position the top of the belt loop just under the top of the waistband.

    • 5

Stitch the tops of the belt loops in place by sewing through the top folded edges of the belt loops. Stitch 1/8 inch away from the folded edges, backstitching to ensure the stitching is secure.

    • 6

Sew the bottoms of the belt loops in place by sewing through the bottom folded edges of the belt loops. Stitch 1/8 inch away from the folded edges, backstitching to ensure the stitching is secure.

    • 7

Thread a belt through the belt loops. As long as your belt is narrower than 2 inches, it will fit through these belt loops.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your belt is wider than 2 inches, cut your bias tape pieces 1 inch longer than the width of the belt.
