How to Clean a 3M Clear Bra
Paint damage and minor dent removal on your car can be expensive, costing anywhere $100 to 200 per panel, with much of it easily avoidable with a bit of protection on the front end of your car. Car bras fit on the front of your vehicle over the headlight and bumper section and help protect it from flying rocks and road debris. Although vinyl bras are thicker and offer better protection than clear coats, they are difficult to put on and remove and are not as aesthetically pleasing. 3M offers a clear, Scotch Guard car bra that only needs to be put on once and is easy to clean and maintain.

1
Do not wash the 3M car bra for 24 hours after it is applied to your car. Normal washing may resume after this time, with a variety of car care products, including those specially designed for the 3M car bra. You may find these items online at 3M.com and at participating auto supply stores.

2
Add 1 ounce of 3M Car Shampoo (or other car shampoo) into a bucket with 1 gallon of warm water.
-
-
3
Rinse your car to remove excess dirt and grit. Small rocks and dirt granules can scratch the surface of the car paint and bra, so be sure to rinse thoroughly.
-
4
Dip a microfiber cloth or car mitt into the shampoo solution and wash the car, making sure to get into the indentations around the car bra and to gently scrub tough stains and dirt.
-
5
Rinse the car thoroughly and dry with a chamois or lint-free towel. You may apply 3M's quick wax with the chamois when drying, if preferred, to give a quick shine to your vehicle.
-
6
Regularly wax your car, if desired, with your favorite wax, but avoid those that contain dyes or any that are not recommended for urethane finishes. Never use an abrasive rubbing compound or polish on the car--this will scratch the bra.
-
7
Remove excess wax that accumulates around the bra edges with a 3M Detailing Cloth, once it has dried. This cloth is recommended by 3M over others as some may scratch the surface of the bra.

Tips & Warnings
3M car bra film should only be applied on fully-cured painted surfaces.
You may remove your 3M car bra film by pulling it up from one corner and peeling it off. For stickier bras, use a hair dryer to help loosen the adhesive before lifting.
Removal of your 3M car bar will result in the inability to re-apply it to your car. Only remove if you desire to be rid of it for good.
