How to Improve Muscle Tone Neuropathy
Physical activity is essential to our daily routine. Aerobic exercise should be balanced with strength training to promote a healthy, fit lifestyle. Strength training is effective for both men and women in burning calories, reducing body fat and toning muscles. It aids in the preservation of muscle mass regardless of age. According to Dr. Edward Laskowski, physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist at the Mayo Clinic, "If you don't do anything to replace the lean muscle you lose, you'll increase the percentage of fat in your body."

Tips & Warnings
Make sure your chosen weight or resistance level is the right weight to tire your muscles after 12 repetitions (reps) You will build and tone your muscles with 12 reps at the same level as if you had done more. According to the Mayo Clinic, training should be limited to two or three sessions per week between 20 to 30 minutes in duration. This will build strength and stamina within weeks. Over a six-month time period, it will improve strength levels by 50 percent, regardless of previous fitness levels.
Consult your physician before starting a strength training routine to make sure you are physically healthy. Always warm up by stretching or use gentle aerobic exercises such as walking briskly for five to 10 minutes. Rest specific muscles for one full day in between training. Whenever you can do 15 reps easily, gradually increase the weight and resistance. Stop training if pain develops. Soreness is expected, but sharp pain or swollen joints are an indication you have done too much.
