How to Use Vellum Quotes for Scrapbooking
Vellum is a semi-transparent paper often used to give scrapbooking projects an elegant, muted look. Although these quotes provide an excellent way to add meaningful phrases to your projects, incorporating any vellum piece into your work can be difficult because of this paper's distinct transparency. Books of vellum quotes are widely available in craft stores with a word or phrase printed onto a small sheet of vellum. When used correctly, vellum quotes will make your finished scrapbook look very professional.

1
Cut out your vellum quote. Most vellum quotes are printed in books with several quotes on each page. Trim the selected quote as needed for your project. Leave as much room around the edges as possible to allow the placement of overlapping embellishments.
-
2
Place the vellum quote onto a solid colored piece of scrapbooking paper. You can place the quote directly onto the background of the page or cut a smaller piece of paper down to use as matting behind the quote.

3
Adhere the quote to the scrapbooking paper. A vellum spray adhesive is the simplest option if you don't mind investing in this special product for vellum papers. This adhesive will be transparent when dried and will not leave visible marks on the vellum sheet. You can also affix the vellum to the paper with small dots of rubber cement. If you use rubber cement, place it on areas of the vellum that you can cover with embellishments.

4
Place embellishments over any visible spots of glue. Stickers, buttons, paper shapes, ribbon and any other style of embellishment can be used.

Tips & Warnings
Avoid using patterned paper behind a vellum quote because the design on the paper can make the text difficult to read.
Store unused vellum in a closed envelope or keep the pages safe within the book they came in. Vellum stains easily and will be ruined if it comes into contact with glue, hand oils and other moist items.
