How to Play Pool Games for Free Without Registering
Most major online game sites, such as Yahoo Games and Pogo, require registration to play. If you would like to play free pool games online without registering, a couple of lesser-known gaming sites are an option. Game Room 2000 requires no registration and has a few different pool games, and while Candy Stand requires registration if you want to earn tickets from each game played to be eligible for prizes, the games can also be played with no registration.

Click on the name of the pool game that you would like to play. This will bring up the standard sign-in screen for the website.

Choose the "Play as Guest" or the "Practice Mode" option in the "No nickname yet?" section of the sign-in screen. Either of these options will allow you to play the free pool game without registering.

Select a room to play in if you have chosen to play as a guest. You will be able to see how many players are already in each game room and the maximum number of players allowed per room. Simply click on the name of the room that you would like to go into. If you have chosen to play in practice mode, you will automatically be taken to a table.

Challenge another player to a game if you are in "Play as Guest" mode. To challenge a player, click on the name of the player in the lower right corner of the screen and click the "Challenge" button. If the player accepts, you will be taken to a table.

Break and make subsequent shots by holding down the right button of your mouse, pulling the mouse back toward you and then pushing it forward. The speed with which you move the mouse will directly correspond to the speed with which you hit the ball.

Move the pool cue by holding down the left mouse button to grab the cue. Once you are holding the cue, you can move it to any angle to make a shot.

Click on the "Find a Game" drop-down list on the main page. "8 Ball Billiards" and "9 Ball Billiards" are both available in the list of free games.

Install the "Adobe Shockwave Player" if prompted. This application is required to run the CandyStand pool games on your computer. To install, simply click on the message at the top of the game screen and click "Install" on the pop-up that appears.

Choose an opponent. Options in CandyStand include joining an open game, beginning a private game or playing the computer. Once you make a selection, you will be prompted to enter a screen name. This is not a registration. It's just the name that the game will use to refer to you. Click where it says "Click to Play" to be taken to the table.

Move the mouse to aim. You can angle the pool cue in any direction around the table.

Press and hold down the left button on the mouse to pull back the pool cue and let go of the button to shoot. The longer you hold down the button, the harder the shot will be.
