How to Plant Perennial Hibiscus Seeds
The perennial hibiscus is an extremely hardy flower. These plants will die down to the soil during the winter, but they will sprout new shoots the next spring. These plants can also grow anywhere from three to eight feet tall. The flowers of the perennial hibiscus can reach 4 inches in size, and vary in color from red to pink to purple. - Paper towel
- Water
- Perennial hibiscus seeds
- Plastic sandwich bags
- Seed tray
- Potting soil
- 6 inch pot for each seed
- Shovel

Use water to moisten one piece of paper towel per seed you wish to plant.

Wrap each seed in once piece of wet paper towel and place in a plastic sandwich bag. Leave the bag open. Place the sandwich bags in your refrigerator, and leave in the refrigerator for two weeks. This will allow the seeds to germinate.

Put potting soil in a seed tray. Plant one seed per one space in the seed tray. Cover each seed with more potting soil.

Water the germinated seeds in the seed tray. Keep the soil moist at all times.

Once the seeds have grown into 5 inch high plants, transplant each plant into its own 6" pot with potting soil. Again, water the plants and make sure the soil is always moist.

Once the plants have grown one foot tall, transplant them outside. Dig holes outside one foot apart from each other and plant one plant per hole. Water the plants thoroughly after transplanting.
