How to Rent a Travel Trailer

A travel trailer is a towable type of recreational vehicle, or RV. A travel trailer cannot be used on its own and must be pulled by a heavy-duty vehicle, such as a large truck. If you are taking a trip and want to use a travel trailer, you do not need to buy one--you can rent one. RV dealers across the United States offer travel trailers for rent. The RV Rental Association has a directory of all RV rental dealers across the U.S.

1. Open a Web browser. Go to the RV Rental Association Resource Site listed in the Resources section of this article.

2. Click on "Locate a Dealer" from the navgivation bar.

3. Enter a zip code, area code or city to search for local RV dealers that rent travel trailers.

4. Select a dealer from the results. Contact information, including address, phone, email and website, are listed for each dealer.

5. Make contact with your preferred dealer using your preferred method to arrange inspection and/or rental of a travel trailer. Not all of the dealers from the search results have travel trailers for rent, so be sure to inquire about the rental inventory that each dealer has available.
