How to Clean a GameCube Controller
The GameCube is the fourth console system from Nintendo. The system uses mini-discs, unlike the competitors, and the GameCube offers online multiplayer functions. The GameCube controller has a rounded design to make holding easier and features two analog sticks, a directional pad and eight buttons that offer in-depth game play. When the game play is slower because of sticking buttons and controls, it is important to clean the GameCube controller.

Run the water faucet until the water is lukewarm. Fill the half of the bowl with warm water.

Turn off the GameCube and remove the controller from the port.

Dip the child-size toothbrush into the bowl of water. A child's toothbrush is smaller and more flexible than an adult's toothbrush. Immerse the bristles in the bowl of water. Squeeze the bristles with your fingers to remove excess water.

Scrub around both analog sticks in a circle. Brush the creases and sticks three times. Rinse the brush and press out the excess water.

Clean the D-pad. Gently brush over the creases and between the directions. Clean the D-pad two times.

Wash each button separately. Scrub in a circle around each button and over the top three times.

Dab the cloth on each part to remove any excess water. Wait approximately three hours before plugging the controller into the GameCube.

Tips & Warnings
After the three-hour wait period, turn on the GameCube to check the controller's response. Repeat the steps once more if the controller still feels dirty.
Only use a small amount of water to clean the controller.
