How to Make a T-Ball Tee
A hitting tee is a great tool in baseball, but especially for youngsters who are getting their first taste of the game at the T-ball level. You can construct a T-ball tee at home by using a few items you already probably have and a few more you can get at the local hardware store. Your players will be able to work on building a level and repeatable swing with the homemade tees you make.
Things You'll Need
- Saw
- Plywood sheet
- 2 PVC pipes
- Hard rubber or plastic hose
- Wooden dowel
- Staple gun
- Threaded pipe
- Floor flange
- Drill
- Screws
- Spray oil (WD40)

1
Cut an 18-by-18-inch square from a sheet of plywood.. This will be the base of your T-ball tee. You will need to attach the floor flange to the base, so drill small pilot holes at three equidistant spots on the flange. Attach the flange into the base with three screws.

2
Screw the PVC pipe to the floor flange. This should be a secure fit. If you have a hard time screwing the PVC pipe in, use spray oil to make it a bit easier.

3
Place a wooden dowel inside the rubber hose. You will eventually place the baseballs on the rubber hose when it's time for your players to practice hitting. However, if you don't put a wooden dowel inside the hose, it will not stand up straight. Secure the dowel to the rubber hose with a staple gun.

4
Place the rubber hose inside the top half of a PVC pipe. You will have to work the rubber hose down with your hands because it will be a very tight fit. The PVC pipe will fit on the second PVC pipe that has been attached to the base.

5
Take the hitting tee to batting practice and let your young hitters get in their swings.
