How to Make Dried Sage Tea

Sage tea is delicious, and many people drink it to improve and enhance their health and well being. Use crushed dried sage and add boiling water. After steeping for several minutes, drink it black or add milk and honey to create an enjoyable hot drink. Make sure you do not boil the tea after adding the sage--simply steep it to enrich the flavor. This recipe makes two servings. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 2 tsp. dry sage leaves
  • 2 cups water
  • Freshly squeezed lemon (to taste)
  • Honey (to taste)
  • Milk (to taste)
  • Tea kettle
  • Two tea cups
  • Teapot
  • Two spoons
  • Metal strainer

Instructions

      Measure the sage leaves and place them in the bottom of the teapot.

      Pour the water into the tea kettle and set the burner to high to boil the water.

      Remove the kettle from the heat and pour the water over the sage leaves in the teapot. Cover the teapot and allow the tea to steep for five minutes.

      Pour the sage tea from the teapot into tea cups through the strainer to strain out the sage leaves.

      Add the lemon, honey and milk to the tea to taste. Stir well and drink.

Tips & Warnings

  • Sage tea can also be made hot and then refrigerated and served as cold tea.
