1. Contact the primary account holder, if you aren't that account holder, and bring to her attention that you would like to have a texting plan added to your phone. It is only a primary account holder who is capable of adding a text plan for a user on any given account.

2. Decide how much texting you plan to conduct. If you only text two or three text messages per day or less, you could easily go with one of Verizon's lower-cost texting packages. If you desire to have the ability to send as many text messages as you would like with no limits, Verizon has an unlimited text messaging package.

3. Visit your local Verizon customer service store in your area and ask about current pricing, as prices have a tendency to change often. If you aren't the primary account holder, then be sure to take her with you. Alternately, visit Verizon's website at www.verizonwireless.com for all of the current packages and prices. You will be asked to enter your ZIP code so you may view the available texting plans in your area.

4. Have the Verizon agreement signed by the primary account holder, agreeing to pay the monthly fee for the texting package. The texting package will generally be made available to you within 24 hours of signing up for your selected package.
