How to Pay My Bank of America Visa Online
Online banking takes the hassle out of paying your bills each month. To use Bank of America's online bill payment system, you'll need to register your account, which takes about 20 minutes. After your initial session, paying your Visa bill will take a few minutes each month, or you can set up automatic payments.

Point your browser to the Bank of America home page. Before you can pay your credit card online, you will need to register your account. In the middle of the home page you will see a section called Manage Your Money.

Click on Enroll in Online Banking and follow the prompts to enroll your account online. Enter in your Visa card number and your Social Security number, along with the state where the account was originally opened. You will also type in your email address. Once you have an online account, you can pay your bill.

Return to the Bank of America home page if you left it. On the left side of the page, type in your Online ID and press Enter or click Sign In. You can check the box under the Online ID line if you would like the computer to remember the ID. Do not do this if the computer is shared with others or is in a public space.

Type in your Passcode, which you made when you enrolled. Press Enter or click Sign In.

Select the Visa account you wish to pay, in the gray section of the screen under Bank Accounts. This screen gives you information about accounts you have with Bank of America, such as credit cards, checking accounts and mortgages.

Click Pay Now in Balance Summary on the left side of the screen. You will be taken to the Bill Pay Choice page.

Click on Pay This Account at the bottom of the screen. The Add U.S. Checking or Money Market Account page will open. You will need to enroll in Bill Pay Choice and add a payment account so you can pay the bill. Begin by checking your home address. The form automatically fills in the address that the company has on file for your credit card but you may wish to get the bill elsewhere. When you are done, click Continue to go to the next screen.

Type in an account name to identify the account, such as the bank you use or personal checking. Select the type of account you are adding in the Account Type section. If you select nothing, the default will be personal checking account.

Type in your bank information. You will need your routing information and your checking account number. You can use more than one U.S. checking and/or money market deposit account to pay your Bank of America Visa. You will have to enter in this information twice.

Click on Accept Terms and Conditions so you can pay your bill online. Click Continue and the Make Payment page will open.
First Time Payment

Enter the date you want the payment to post to your account in the Payment Date section. The due date of the bill will appear automatically. You can change the date, but the system will automatically move a payment date to the previous business day, so do not select a Saturday or Sunday.

Type in the amount of the payment you want to send in the Payment Amount window. The amount due for the bill will appear automatically.

Select the funding account from which you want to make each payment in the Funding Account window.

Click Continue and the Confirmation page will appear. Check your payment information.

Click Schedule Payment and the Payment Complete page will open, giving you a confirmation number that you can print or copy and paste into your money management tool.

Tips & Warnings
Before using any online banking system, be sure to check for the VeriSign yellow lock (next to the Bank of America address line) on your browser. This shows that the bank uses Secure Socket Layers to encrypt your personal information for security purposes.
