How to Move an Application Out of a Folder on a Blackberry Curve

The BlackBerry Curve operating system hasn't changed much over the years. Although it definitely has some intuitive features, one of the most complained about features is the way it hides some of its application icons within a subsets of application folders. If you use a program frequently, it can be inconvenient to navigate to the application folder to use it. You can move the application icon to the application menu or even to the main menu by using the menu key to move it.

Tips & Warnings

  • You should always have the most-used application icons on your main menu screen. This may include your messages, your contacts or your instant messengers.

  • If you are not using the latest version of the BlackBerry operation system on your BlackBerry Curve, you may not be able to complete the steps above. Check your operating system by pressing "Alt, Shift and H" simultaneously. On the "Help Me!" screen, your operating system version will be the third line down, next to "App Version." Check with your mobile phone carrier that you are running the latest version. If you are not, they can provide the download to you and you can install it on your BlackBerry Curve using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
