How to Connect a Compressor and an Airbrush
The oldest form of airbrush art dates back thousands of years to the mouth-blown pigment art of cave paintings---the art has evolved a lot since then. Modern airbrushing has numerous applications, from a tool in an artist's arsenal, to a professional airbrusher in the automotive industry. Airbrushing is also making headway into the makeup world, with body art and even regular facial foundations being applied with cosmetic airbrushes. Knowing how to work your machinery is the basic step in mastering any form of airbrushing.

1
Power the compressor off before locating the hose nozzle on the compressor body. This is usually protruding from the top or side of the compressor, but it depends on the type of compressor you have.
-
2
Screw the air hose onto the compressor nozzle---this usually requires a clockwise motion. Make sure that the hose is threaded evenly onto the compressor nozzle and that the couplings are in place and tight.

3
Locate the corresponding hose connection nozzle on the airbrush stylus. This nozzle is commonly located on the back end of the stylus, or on the underside of the stylus, underneath the air flow control lever.
-
4
Screw the other end of the air hose onto the stylus nozzle in the same manner as in Step 2.
