How to Keep Fresh Step in the Litter Box
-
1
Purchase a small bag of sand (used for sandboxes) from any home and garden center.
-
2
Mix one part sand to three parts Fresh Step in a five-gallon bucket. Although sand doesn't eliminate Fresh Step from being tracked out of the litter box, it does help prevent it from sticking to paw-pads and fur.
-
-
3
Discard contents of litter box and clean thoroughly using a disinfectant, toilet brush and water.
-
4
Allow litter box to dry before adding new litter.
-
5
Pour sand/Fresh Step mixture into litter box.
-
6
Add a stepping ramp to access the litter box. Ramps are covered with felt or felt-like material to help attract stray litter from cats' paws and paw-pads.
