How to Keep Rodents Out of a Car in Storage
Mice infestations in cars have been known to cause thousands of dollars worth of damage. Although mice-proofing your car for storage may require some planning and a little bit of financial investment, it will prove to be well worth the money down the road.
Although mice are sometimes deterred by repellents and mouse traps, the most effective way to keep mice away is to create a physical barrier. The easiest way to do this is to purchase a zip-up car storage bag. They are available for $100-$200.

Clean your car very thoroughly. Crumbs and old food are an open invitation for mice to settle down for the winter in your car.

Lay out the car storage bag on the floor of your garage (or other storage location). Position it so the bag can be fully zipped around your car once it is parked. Drive your car onto the storage bag.

Place several paper plates on the floorboards of your car, and set a bar of scented soap on each plate. The soap will repel mice in the rare case that one makes it through the storage bag

If you can't afford a storage bag for your car, try creating a physical barrier by enclosing it in a tarp. You may also want to put your car on jacks, because the smooth surface of the jack is difficult for mice to climb.

Occasionally, mice have been known to chew through car storage bags. If possible, you may want to check the bag periodically for holes and replace the mouse traps when necessary.
