How to Make a Microwaveable Neck Warmer
Soothing neck warmers are popular for relaxation and pain relief. Neck warmers can be purchased, however, it is possible to make the exact same type of microwaveable neck warmer at home for a fraction of the cost.
Things You'll Need
- Soft fabric (8 inches wide and 19 inches long)
- Thread
- Sewing machine
- 3 cups flax seed
- Tape measure
Instructions

1
Fold the fabric in half long ways with the right sides together. Pin along the edges. Sew the bottom end and the long side with a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Leave one end open so that you have a long tube.
-
2
Turn the tube right side out. Pour the flax seed into the tube. Fold the open ends of the tube inward ½ an inch and sew it shut.

3
Prevent the flax seed from settling unevenly during use by creating separate sections to the neck warmer. Use the tape measure to measure out three 6-inch sections. Spread out the flax seed evenly between the channels before sewing across the tube to create the sections.

Warm the neck warmer in the microwave for 1-3 minutes on high heat. Ensure that the neck warmer is not overheated before you put it on your skin.
