How to Remove a Tag Wart

Tag warts, or "skin tags," are noncancerous skin growths that commonly appear on the neck, underarms and skin folds. These stalklike excess pieces of skin often have a slender base and may be flesh-toned or slightly darker than the skin's natural pigment. Skin tag formation is a result of excessive skin rubbing against skin. Medical skin tag removal may include cryotherapy, surgical and cauterization procedures ranging from $100 to $300. However, natural tag wart treatments are available if you are seeking a painless, inexpensive alternative.

Instructions

  1. ACV Tag Wart Removal

    • 1

Pour 1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar into bowl. Apple cider vinegar contains alpha-hydroxy acids that exfoliate dead skin cells and promote skin cell production, producing a smooth, blemish-free complexion. Apple cider vinegar also includes high acidity levels that act as a natural astringent, aiding tag wart and skin blemish removal.

    • 2

Dip one cotton ball into apple cider vinegar and apply to tag wart. Press the cotton ball gently against the tag wart--do not rub. Rubbing the tag wart with apple cider vinegar will inflame surrounding skin.

    • 3

Secure the cotton ball onto tag wart with adhesive bandage. Apply the adhesive bandage directly on top of the cotton ball for a secure fit.

    • 4

Repeat this treatment twice daily, morning and night, for three weeks to ensure tag wart removal.

Castor Oil and Baking Soda Paste

    • 5

Pour 1 tbsp. baking soda and castor oil into bowl. Stir ingredients for approximately two minutes to properly blend. Castor oil contains ricinoleic acid, which decreases bacteria, mold and yeast growth. Baking soda contains natural chemical compounds that exfoliate the skin, thus aiding the wart removal process by eliminating skin oil residue and dead skin cells. Removal of oil residue and dead skin cells will result in a radiant complexion and promote new skin cell production that will decrease the possibility of scarring after wart removal.

    • 6

Place a gauze pad into the baking soda and castor oil mixture. Allow gauze pad to soak in the mixture for two minutes.

    • 7

Apply the gauze pad to tag wart. Place the the gauze pad directly on top of the tag wart and secure with adhesive bandage.

    • 8

Repeat this process twice daily for three weeks for tag wart removal.

Tips & Warnings

  • All ingredients can be purchased at your local supermarket.

  • Do not exceed twice-daily application of apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar contains high levels of acidity that may irritate the skin if used excessively. Always wash your hands after handling apple cider vinegar and castor oil before making contact with your eyes. Failure to do so may result in burning and eye irritation. If this occurs, flush your eyes with cool water for 15 minutes.
