How to Clear a Saved Screen Name in an AOL Sign in Page
Because the AOL Web site uses cookies on your computer, once you sign into your account, the screen name is likely to be saved in the username box. The benefit of this is that you don't have to type your username everytime you want to log into AOL. However, if you want to clear your saved screen name due to security concerns or other reasons, you can easily do so by tweaking a few settings in your Internet browser.

Delete the screen name out of the "Username or Email" window. Remove the checkmark from the "Remember Me" box.

Click on "Tools" from the menu bar. Select "Options."

Click the "Privacy" tab. Click the "Show Cookies" button.

Highlight the AOL address. Click the "Remove Cookies" button.

Click the "Settings" button underneath the "Privacy" tab.

Place a checkmark in all of the boxes underneath the "History" section. Click "OK." Click "OK" again to close out of the options window.

Delete the screen name out of the "Username or Email" window. Remove the checkmark from the "Remember Me" box.

Click on "Tools" from the menu bar. Select "Internet Options."

Select the option to delete "Temporary Internet Files," "History," "Cookies," "Saved Passwords," and "Web Form Information."

Click "OK" to close out of the Internet Options window.
