How to Plant Cannons
Cannons, also known as Cannas, are sometimes referred to as lilies-of-the-valley. They produce orange, red, yellow, peach and pink flowers in early summer. Cannas come as bulbs and bloom every year with minimal care needed in between. These flowers must be planted after the last frost or else the bulbs will be damaged and will not grow. Cannas need plenty of space and will grow in every United States climate.
Dig a 2-inch deep hole in the soil at one end of your garden. The hole needs to be large enough in diameter to fit the bulb comfortably.

Place the bulb into the hole so that the green "eye" shoot is facing upwards.
Cover the bulb loosely with soil. Do not pack it in tightly, as this will prevent the bulb from growing properly.
Move approximately 12 to 14 inches down to your right or left and repeat steps 1 through 3 for the next bulb. Repeat until all are planted.
Water your freshly planted bulbs until the soil is moist, but not soaked.
