How to Find Out What Items Sold for on eBay
A successful eBay transaction begins with proper research. Buyers and sellers alike can benefit from finding out the sale price of previous auctions, according to eBay. If you're researching an item to sell, make sure it typically sells for a price suitable for you. If you're considering placing a bid or purchasing an item, find out what similar items sold for to avoid paying too much.

Sign in to your eBay account. Click on the "Advanced Search" link next to the main search box.

Enter the item's name or relevant keywords to produce your search results. If you are searching for a vehicle, include the year, make and model. For consumer items (stereos, watches, etc.), enter the model number or brand name.

Select the check box next to "Completed Listings." This selection will return completed auctions from the past 90 days.

Scan the search results. While each of the listings displayed are completed, keep in mind that not all of them were sold. Sold items are listed in green; red items did not sell.

Tips & Warnings
If you want to find the sale price of a particular item, enter the auction ID number into the search box.
When selling, set your "Buy it Now" price or "Reserve" near the average transaction price of similar items. Overpriced items usually do not sell.
