Further Troubleshooting
-
10
Try the iPod on a different USB port, or with a different cable. Sometimes the problem is not with the iPod at all, but rather the connection. Disconnect your iPod's USB cable from the USB port, and connect it to a different one. If you have several USB ports on your computer, try it on all of them.
-
11
Try the iPod on a different computer. iTunes can sometimes fail on a computer. This may cause the computer to not react when an iPod is connected. You may need to download the latest version of iTunes from Apple on the other computer.
-
12
Call Apple. If you have a receipt for the iPod. Be sure to have that handy so that you can give your information to a support specialist. Tech support can help walk you through troubleshooting, but they will charge you if your iPod is not currently under warranty.
