How to Prepare Bentonite for a Colon Cleanse
Bentonite is a type of clay which is highly absorbent and often produced from weathering volcanic ash. Calcium bentonite is effective in absorbing fats and oils and is used in colon cleansing to remove these unwanted substances from your digestive tract, taking toxins with it. Calcium bentonite in powdered form has been prescribed as a laxative by health professionals. If the bentonite is not prepared properly, you may experience bloating.
Instructions

1
Fill a glass with 8 ounces of water.
-
2
Add 1 tablespoon of bentonite powder to the water. Mix this thoroughly and completely. There should be no clay clumps in the water and the mixture should look uniform throughout.
-
-
3
Add 1 teaspoon of psyllium to the mixture. Stir completely for 30 seconds to make sure the psyllium dissolves completely.
-
4
Examine the mixture to make sure there are no clumps and everything is dissolved.
-

Drink the solution immediately to prevent settling of the bentonite powder. Bentonite is a clay powder that is not water soluble. It will eventually settle at the bottom of the glass if left sitting.

Tips & Warnings
Using more bentonite or psyllium in an 8 ounce glass of water may prevent the clay from becoming fully hydrated which leads to stomach distress and discomfort.
Cleansing is an alternative health practice and should not replace a doctor's diagnosis of serious medical conditions. Always talk to your doctor before starting any cleanse or detox program.
