How to Sync to an Instinct Phone

Syncing is the process of digitally transferring files from one electronic device to another. Syncing digital media to the Samsung Instinct smartphone can by done by connecting it via USB to a computer. Once the phone establishes some line of communication with the computer, transferring media only takes about a minute, depending on the total size of the files you are attempting to transfer.

      Plug the Samsung Instinct's USB sync cable into the phone's A/C adapter port and one of the computer's available USB ports.

      Click "Open Folder to View Files" in the AutoPlay window to view the Samsung Instinct's removable storage drive folders when the connection is detected.

      Go to the "Media" or "Content Manager" folder that will appear as a subfolder in the removable storage folders. The folder should be empty so digital media files can be placed in this area.

      Click the Start menu icon link and select "My Documents" to access your user documents and digital media files on the computer's hard drive.

      Locate the digital media files you want to transfer to the Instinct and click the file to highlight its icon.

      Sync the highlighted digital media file to the Instinct by dragging it to the removable storage "Media" or "Content Manager" folder.

Tips & Warnings

  • Prior to attempting the sync process, the files should be stored to the computer.This is the only way you will be able to sync files to the Instinct in a timely fashion.

  • Be aware that all files can be synced to the Samsung Instinct, but some may not be accessible on the phone as some file formats are not supported. The phone is a multimedia smartphone, but it does not have a mobile operating system pre-installed.
