1
Open any graphic design software and click "New File" to open a new document. Set the document size to letter or 8-1/2 inches by 11 inches.
-
2
Click on the shape tool in the floating menu bar and select the tag shape. Click and drag with the mouse to draw the tag onto the blank document.
-
-
3
Go to "Image" in the top menu bar and select "Resize Layer." Set the layer size to approximately 2 inches by 3 inches. This will allow space for two columns of tags on one sheet of paper; however, feel free to change the size to anything you like as long as it is smaller than the paper.
-
4
Insert a photo or clip art to the tag by clicking on "File" and selecting "Import." Choose the appropriate file from the pop-up menu and insert the picture. Resize the image to fit the tag.
-
5
Select the text tool from the floating menu bar and type any saying, names, dates or other information you would like on the tag. Change the font by clicking on the options in the text menu bar.
-
6
Go to "Layer" in the top menu and select "Flatten layers" to lock the text and images together. Drag the tag to the upper left hand corner of the document. Go to "Layer" in the top menu and select "Duplicate Layer."
-
7
Move the new layer to the top right hand corner of the document. Continue duplicating the layer until the page is full of tags.
-
8
Go to "File" and select "Print." Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the printing of the customized tags.
-
9
Use a paper cutter or sharp scissors to cut the tags out of the paper. Punch a hole in the corner of each tag using a single-hole punch. String a piece of ribbon through each of the holes and tie the tags to the favors.
