How to Make Witch Hazel and Bergamot Deodorant

Witch hazel and bergamot deodorant requires natural ingredients that can be purchased at most health food stores or online. It is just as effective as most commercially available deodorants without all of the chemicals and additives often found in store-bought deodorants. Making your own deodorant also saves you money.   • Witch hazel
  • Bergamot essential oil
  • Essential tea tree oil
  • Essential lavender oil
  • Wooden spoon or disposable stirrer
  • Sterilized glass bottle with top or fine-spray mister
  • Clean plastic funnel

Instructions

      Combine 1 cup witch hazel and 60 drops bergamot essential oil in a small saucepan. Cover and heat over low heat for two to three minutes or until warm.

      Add 10 drops each of essential tea tree oil and lavender oil. Stir with a wooden spoon or disposable stirrer.

      Transfer the contents of the saucepan into a sterilized glass bottle using a clean plastic funnel.

      Shake the bottle vigorously for about 20 seconds. Set aside in a cool, dark place for 24 hours before first use. Shake before each application.

Tips & Warnings

  • Apply by spraying several times under each arm or use a cotton ball if your bottle does not have a mister.

  • Avoid storing or mixing any type of homemade deodorant in an aluminum container, as heavy metals may enter the body through the pores.
