How to List Several Job Titles With the Same Company Resume

If you have held several job titles with the same company, your approach to your resume will be different than the average employee who only held one position at each company. Capitalize on your promotions and highlight your achievements by pointing out to the receiver that you continually were promoted to new positions during your tenure.

Instructions

  1. List Multiple Job Titles on a Resume

    • 1

List the company name along with city and state under the experience section of your resume. To the right side of this or just underneath the company name, list the dates that you worked for this employer in all positions.

    • 2

Detail the position titles that you held while at the company in reverse chronological order. The most recent title you held should be listed first under the company information. Bold the font of the position title on your resume. To the right of the position title, list the dates that you were in that position. It is acceptable to list only month and year for the dates. Do this for each position title you held, while leaving room between titles to detail your job responsibilities for each title.

    • 3

Provide information about the duties and responsibilities of each position directly under the position title. Using a bullet-pointed list, detail the daily tasks involved in each position. For the first bullet point under each title you were promoted to, list the reason the promotion was given. For example: "Promoted to store manager after sales totals increased 25%, due to incentive programs and sales training I developed as the assistant sales manager."

    • 4

Give concrete and tangible job responsibilities. Whenever possible, list your job duties by showing your achievement in that area rather than just the tasks you were assigned. Instead of "Wrote a marketing plan for the music department", write, "Wrote and implemented a marketing plan for the music department that resulted in a 15% increase in sales and 30% increase in customer satisfaction in six months." The latter statement gives a more detailed view of your abilities.
